Looking Through

Abstract is from a Latin word meaning "pulled away, detached," and the basic idea is of something detached from physical, or concrete, reality.

Looking through was a series of works that initally came from my final year in art college. The concept was to hand select information in a certain scene, by extracting elements such as color tone. Leaving the hand drawn structure in its place. The vertical stripes were chosen in a random way almost dripping off the canvas to convey an organic exposure to reality.
